Where can I find a reference to the date 607 BC as the date that Jerusalem was conquered by the Babylonians?
In an on-line article from the watchtower we can read this apparently false date of the overthrow of Jerusalem.

The JWs arrive at this, their most important date “1914”, by using the date Jerusalem was conquered by the Babylonians and some very inventive mathematics. 1914 was to the end of the world, but when that didn’t happen they changed that to the date that Christ took His place on His throne invisibly.
I have done some investigation on the internet and can not find a reference anywhere to that date of 607 BC.
Where can I find a reference from an historian as to that being the correct date?
All the dates I can find show that the JWs have used the wrong date, could they be incorrect with the information they publish?

Please help the JWs out and find a reference to agree with their published date of 607 BC, sorry, we have to take Christ out of it, therefore 607 B.C.E.

Only in Watch Tower material will anyone find 607 referenced as the date of the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple.
It may be of interest that the Babylonians did attack in 608/7 BC but the attack faltered. The Babylonians did take prisoners, slaves, hostages (which is captivity). Daniel is thought to be one of those taken as prisoner during this time. Another thought is that Daniel did return some seventy years later but only for a short time and returned to his home in Babylon.
