The Risks of Online Dating

Online dating is big business . There is a few reasons why people find this way of meeting new people so interesting. Almost everyone is doing it! among the many online dating services, a lot of them are free.
The growing popularity of online dating has revolutionized the way couples meet. These days, it is not unusual for a single person to become a member in an online dating service. In fact, it is fast becoming the rule. In 2004, it was estimated that residents in the U.S. spent millions on online dating services.
The combination of curiosity and the hope to meet exciting new people is what attracts individuals to be a part of an online dating service group. But this new activity doesn’t come without risks
Of course it doesn’t happen all the time, but now and then we hear horror stories about online dating services. Some of them are scary enough to keep singles away from online dating services for good.
One of the problems of this industry is that its members often lie about themselves in their profil. Not everyone tells the truth. People have been known to mislead others about everything, including the fact that they’re married. Some married individuals try to pass themselves off as single, others lie about their appearance, age, economic status, and even gender.
For an inexperienced online dater, danger lurks at every corner. But there are some safety tips prospective members can learn to help guide them through a safe online dating experience.
Online dating services that offer subscriptions are safer than those that can be accessed for free.Paid membership sites offer a set of requirements and rules that prospective members have to meet.
Some sites are very exclusive.Anyone who wants to join has to go through an intensive screening process. Background checks are done on future members to make sure their information is true.
Here are some safety tips about online dating:
1. When dating online you should protect your identity. You should be extremely careful about divulging personal information that will make it possible for the people to locate you.
2. Pay attention to the consistency of the information your correspondents are giving you. This way, you may be able to catch them out in a lie.
3. Watch out for warning signs when talking to people, such as: the use of foul language, signs of anger for no apparent reason, elusiveness in answering direct questions, disrespectful remarks, etc. These signs spell trouble. The person with these types of behavior may not be trustworthy, you shouldn’t continue this dangerous relationship.
4. You should immediately stop communication with people who will insist on obtaining personal information about you.
5. After you agree to meet your date, meet in a public place that is well-lit, with plenty of other people around.
You should always practice common sense and be cautious whenever you meet someone new. Even though the courtship takes place online, once you have revealed personal information about yourself, you can’t take it back.
You should always use your instincts and logic when it comes to dealing with other people, especially when dating online. This is where some people fall prey to cheaters, deceivers, and even sexual offenders. Don’t against your better judgment. If something feels untrue, then this is probably a sign that something could go terribly wrong.
You are better to get out of this kind of situation. As the saying goes: “Better safe than sorry”. You should always remember that saying when online dating.

Online Dating – Planning for the Perfect First Date a Guys Guide Part 1
October 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment
You have arranged a first date with someone you have never seen and this by its very nature can be stressful.
You have met someone online and now its time to meet face to face – Your excited and want it to go well so you need to plan.
Let’s take a look at how to arrange a first date and make it a success.
Venue
The best way to meet first of all is in an environment that will make your date and you feel comfortable.
One of the biggest mistakes guys make is booking a dinner table in a busy restaurant.
Think about it.
You have never met and you end up sitting down to dinner with someone you don’t know and your right next to people who can hear your every word.
Hardly the best way to meet and feel relaxed!
A better alternative is to meet for a quick drink before hand in an informal but busy environment so you both feel comfortable but you won’t have people listening to your every word.
Check for a bar or coffee place with good space between the seating and hotels tend to be excellent for this.
There comfortable, busy but not crushed and you can talk freely in a relaxed environment.
This allows you to relax and get to know your date and then if you are both getting on go for dinner.
Your date maybe nervous to and she will appreciate this informal and no pressure way of meeting.
Appearance
When you meet you obviously want to look your best should you be formal or informal?
It’s up to you but if you wear a suit you can’t go wrong – Most women love men in suits and it shows you made an effort.
Conversation
We all know that conversation should come naturally but on a first date it can be hard so you need to avoid those long pauses that can occur.
Decide a few topics that you would like to discuss before hand in line with her interests. If its music check out a few of her favourite artists or if its books then discuss these – Just make an effort to know about a few of her favourite pastimes and you can start chatting about them, if conversation does not fl9ow smoothly.
We have covered this more fully in our other articles and if you know how to do the art of conversation you can get both you and your partner more relaxed.
Manners
On a first date it goes without saying you need to be punctual and friendly, but dot be too friendly! Don’t invade your date’s space, get to close or ask questions that are too personal.
Your aim is to be friendly polite and show good manners – We have covered body language in other articles, where you can see from your dates body language if she is relaxed, or if she likes you – But in the first instance simply make sure that you go to quickly to soon.
First dates are stressful but by picking the right venue, showing manners and leading the conversation you will relax your date and yourself and hopefully it will be a success and you will meet again.

Urban Drama DVD – The members of a British working-class family see their lives starting to come apart as the Nation prepares to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day (named for an anarchist who tried to blow up Parliament) in Michael Winterbottom’s drama Wonderland. Eileen (Kika Markham) and Bill (Jack Shepherd) are a married couple with four grown children. Bill has lost his job and is drifting through life, unsure of what to do. He’s also having sexual problems with Eileen, who is being driven insane by their noisy neighbors. Neither Bill nor Eileen have seen their son Darren (Enzo Cilenti) for a long time, and his birthday is a heartbreaking experience for them. (Darren, on the other hand, would prefer to celebrate his birthday by spending the night in a hotel with his girlfriend rather than seeing his parents.) Bill and Eileen also have three daughters, Nadia (Gina McKee), Debbie (Shirley Henderson) and Molly (Molly Parker). Nadia works in a cafe and has trouble meeting men; she’s signed up with a dating agency, but has yet to meet anyone she likes. Debbie is suddenly a single mother after separating from her drunken lout of a husband. Debbie drowns her sorrows in a series of meaningless one-night-stands, while her husband flies into uncontrollable rages and their son is left with no one to turn to on either side. And while Molly’s story seems happy on the surface — she’s soon to give birth to her first child and her husband has done well in kitchen sales — she’s suddenly thrown into instability when she finds her husband has quit his job, without telling her, to follow his dream of becoming a chef. Wonderland received enthusiastic reviews for its ensemble cast when shown at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. – Wonderland (DVD)
